Overview

The New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance (a government agency) issues an annual HMO Report, based on patient satisfaction surveys. The 2006 report is the tenth annual report. Previous reports were published by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.

The patient satisfaction survey used to create the report is the well-known National Health Plan and Employer Data & Information Set (HEDIS), developed by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) .

Methodology
The report is based on the Health Plan and Employer Data & Information Set (HEDIS) questionnaire.
Timeliness
The 2006 report is available now. However this report contains data based on patient satisfaction during the 2005 calendar year.
Coverage
“This report includes information on New Jersey commercial health plans’ health maintenance organization (HMO) and point-of-service (POS) products. The report includes all such health plans currently marketed in New Jersey that had at least 2,000 members in both 2004 and 2005.”
Accessibility
Reports are available through the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance web site free of charge, without requiring user registration.
